AURA Campus: prepare an institution for an attendance workflow

An attendance workflow depends on clear responsibilities as much as software. AURA Campus supports institutional administration, including attendance, fees, assignments, examinations, transport and reporting through authorised modules.

Define the attendance routine first

Agree who records attendance, which class or session they cover and when the record should be entered. Write down how late arrivals, approved absences and corrections are handled under the institution’s own policy.

Use one class or group as the starting point. Check the roster with the responsible staff member before introducing the workflow more widely. Inaccurate enrolment data will affect the result regardless of how carefully someone enters attendance.

Map the records and permissions

• Confirm student identities and current class assignments.
• Give staff access appropriate to their responsibilities.
• Identify who may review and approve corrections.
• Confirm which information can be shared with families through authorised channels.

Family visibility should follow the institution’s verified relationships and permissions. A staff dashboard is not a reason to expose an entire class’s information to a parent or learner.

Test the routine with a small pilot

Check a normal session, an absence and a correction using authorised records. Review the resulting information with the staff who own the process. Record any step that requires clarification before extending the routine to other classes.
